Mr. Karma Tshering, who was Chief Engineer in the Department of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs has been appointed on secondment as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bhutan Electricity Authority (BEA) Secretariat in April 2010. Subsequently, Mr. Karma Tshering took over the charges of the BEA Secretariat as its CEO with effect from 11 May 2010.

The Bhutan Electricity Authority conducted a Public Hearing for the Tariff Revision Proposals submitted by the DGPC and BPC on 18 June, 2010 at the NRDCL Conference Hall in Thimphu. The presentations made by the BEA Secretariat, BPC and DGPC at the Public Hearing is now available at www.bea.gov.bt/downloads.php.

The energy data directory, compiled by the department of energy with support from TERI, a non-profit Indian research institute, provides comprehensive information on energy supply, consumption, and energy balance of Bhutan, complete with analysis.
